A winter day at the beach...

Alex and me decided to go for a shorttrip to the sunshine coast. Lucky us that we still have the small Daihatsu! It was a pretty chilly morning. I'm glad to be back in my warm flat :-)

During this semester break we decided to explore Cape York! I was really glad to do this trip because in the last trip I had to stay at home due to a bloody cold. But now I was fine and prepared to go on a two weeks trip to Cape York. The Cape is the northernmost place of the Australian continent and therefore far far afield from all civilization.

The trip from Brisbane is about 2700km one-way! The last 800km after Cairns have been made available only by unsealed off-road tracks - so lots of fun for us! Without the 4WD of Richard we would not have been able to do the trip

Really nice to be at the northernmost point of Australia (even because it is nice and warm there now compared to chilly Brisbane)

On the way to the Cape we got bogged in a nice muddy hole. Sweet :-D The car stopped there because a hidden stick made his way through the engine bay from below and damaged the throttle control. But due to the engineering skills of Richard the car was fine after a couple of hours...

We had a lot of fun together. I travelled with a group of five; that were Richard - the Ozzy, Remy and Aurelie - the french connection, Alex and me.
















I'm going to upload more pictures and some videos in three weeks. I can't do it earlier because the remaining pictures are on Richard's laptop and he started right after our trip to Europe. If anybody is keen to give him a sightseeing tour in his local city plz give me a note.
